Lauren has a unique skill set in that she has a background in Architecture and Interior Design, as well as professional experience in organizing including training from the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) and the Institute for Challenging Disorganization (ICD). Her strengths include not only organizing your items, but crafting an aesthetically pleasing, cohesive interior design plan that will allow you to make the most of your space. She also loves to incorporate items that you already have as well as meaningful, personal items. She not only has a passion for design & organization, but has formal training in both arenas and will always be thinking about your storage needs. For example, a typical designer may choose a desk for your home office solely based on the way it fits into their desired aesthetic. They may stage it beautifully for photographs, but when they leave and you try to start using the office, you realize that you have nowhere to store your files and paperclips -- that beautiful desk is suddenly cluttered and you are no longer able to fully enjoy your space. Not so with Circle G Designs! Let us help you create a space that truly fits your life!

Why Lauren?

If you are relocating to a new home or downsizing into a smaller space, I can assist by providing a computer-generated floor plan showing your existing furniture in a new space. This involves taking detailed measurements of the new space and the furniture you are interested in reusing. Depending on the size of your home, floor plans usually take between 6 and 20 hours to complete. This service also works well in conjunction with professional organizing as you are deciding what to bring with you and what to let go of.

Downsizing & new home transitions

I provide interior design consulting services including space planning, color and finish selections, and more. I can help provide recommendations for contractors to perform any necessary work and additionally, carry a wide variety of furnishings, fabrics, wallpapers, and decor items. I will assist in setting up the finished space with styling and artwork installation. Please contact me to schedule a complimentary phone consultation to discuss your specific project.

Interior Design &
Furnishings/Decor

This involves working side-by-side with a client for a typical session of 4 hours, to determine items to be kept, discarded, sold or donated and collaborate on the design of organizational systems that work for your specific needs and lifestyle. I have experience organizing with clients of varying ages, life stages, and organizing abilities. I additionally hold a certification in Chronic Disorganization from the Institute of Challenging Disorganization and have worked in hoarding environments. We can tackle anything together. Each session includes a complimentary trip to take donations to a local Goodwill store if applicable.

Organizing also works well when done as a precursor to interior design, as it helps me better understand your overall design and storage needs giving you a completed space that is tailored to you. It also helps avoid unnecessarily cluttering the finished space as everything will already have its perfect place!

I am getting ready to move. How can you help me?

Design may start in the context of an organizing session, or with a complimentary initial consultation to talk about your needs. If you are interested in proceeding with the design, we will take measurements and put together a preliminary design plan to review together. The preliminary design is usually followed by 1-2 rounds of revisions. Once all plans are finalized, we will discuss the details of purchasing and installation. Circle G Designs carries a wide range of products and furniture lines for which we receive a small commission. This helps support our small business and helps us keep our hourly rates at a reasonable price point.

How does the design process work?

Organizing typically starts with a collaborative session where we work together and go through your items, releasing items that are no longer needed and talking in specifics about how you use your items. Based on your feedback, our team will make recommendations for organizational systems that we think will suit your specific needs and lifestyle. Once we have collectively established a plan, our team will procure or help you procure any necessary organizing products and implement the system.
